New Year, Good Cheer, 2016 Usage comparisons and Mechanism

Hi and very happy new year to yourselves, your loved ones and your work teams. Here is to an excellent, productive, impactful and meaningful 2017. Just a quick note on 3 things (a) some good cheer re overall development progress (b) 10% plus increases in The CI platter usage and (3) your contributions to the online part of the “mechanism” dialogue

1. The Good Cheer!

Quiet work times allow us to review stuff that we may not normally get to read. I read the history of American comedy … but more pertinent to work was intrigued by this collection of charts in Vox: Proof that life is getting better for humanity, in 5 charts

We can be consumed by the day-to-day challenges and there is often a mood of nothing is improving. These charts show the opposite. Would be interesting to get your critique.

2. Usage of The Communication Initiative platform

Comparing 2016 with 2015 user sessions were up 14.13% and unique users were up 10.13%. The number of users who visited only one page was down 12.64%. Some country comparisons include:

India was up 12.93% - 50,443 user sessions (44,669 in 2015)

Kenya was up 9.69% - 30,318 user sessions (27,640 in 2015)

South Africa was up 23.13% - 29,199 user sessions (23,713 in 2015)

Nigeria was up 35.26% - 21,325 user sessions (15,766 in 2015)

Pakistan was up 19.20% - 8,908 user sessions (7,473 in 2015)

Zimbabwe was up 31.23% - 7,110 user sessions (5418 in 2015)

Vietnam up 36.71% - 1,702 user sessions (1,245 in 2015)

These are examples only. Please let me know any specific countries of interest.

Continuing the trend in previous reports, mobile usage is up 40.56% (253,866 vs 180,613 user sessions).

3. The “Mechanism”
