Coordination Platform for Global Alliance - Insights and Tips
To: Focal points for the Global Alliance for Social and Behaviour Change - Building Informed and Engaged Societies
Many best wishes to everyone. I am about to send the notes from the initial meeting of the Alliance in Nusa Dua. For coordination reasons we will do this through The Ci platform in this initial phase. I am aware that all of these platforms have their quirks so please let me know by email reply any issues that you may have. Please note that for any communication you can reply by email and have your contributions posted. You could have seen all of this in action before through, as just 2 examples, the recent extensive and critical contributions to the What Works? Summit Declaration and the Updates related to that Summit. We are aware that some organisations are still considering but have included you at this stage so that we are all in the same loop.
A few basic coordination insights and guidance points might be helpful.
1. The coordination platform is at this link - please note that it is a private group so you will need to log-in to access. It is under the "My Groups" tab.
2. I chose the image - deepening and increasingly intertwined roots for the development of this field of work! (A prize for anyone who can identify the location!). But please suggest alternative images.
3. As we are using the normal The CI platform whilst we sort out branding for the Alliance you may get other emails that look similar. For Alliance related emails please look for Group: The Global Alliance for Social and Behaviour Change - building informed and engaged societies at the top of the email.
3. Please review the list of people who are included from your organisation. You can go through the list from this link. It is organised by the user name people have chosen when registering on the platform. Please let me know by return email any additional people to add to this list. I will also send an excel soon with contacts by organisation.
4. This contact list - or the page with the images is also a good way to both learn a little more about the other people who are focal points for the other organisations that are part of the Alliance - for example Joumana Kalot at the American Univeristy of Beirut ; Patrick Cook at ISMA ; Sohini Bhattacharya at Breakthrough India ; and, Ricardo Corredor, President of GFMD
5. To update your accounts and profiles when logged in click on your username top right and then on Manage my Account. You will see the tabs to click and update or enter new information. The more up-to-date info and images the better.
6. To create a new post for this group click on Create Group News in the block at the top of the right margin when you are logged in. Enter what you wish and then scroll down and click SAVE. For anti-spam and DNS attack reasons we approve everything as quickly as we can.
7. As posts come through from others you can of course send comments and replies either by email reply (they will be posted) or online through the links in the email you will receive.
8. We will be creating different sections on this platform for (a) the Alliance meetings (notes will be send soon for the initial meeting in Nusa Dua) and (b) the 3 priority clusters on which our initial work will focus - policy engagement, evidence, and the Alliance infrastructure. These will be launched this week.
Many thanks - happy to answer any questions and fix any issues (including forgotten passwords!) - just reply to this email. More soon in the form of the notes from the Nusa Dua meeting.
